Your role – Electric Powertrain at the Core of Heavy Machinery
As an Application Engineer in our Electric Powertrain Technology Team, you focus on the development of the electric powertrain for our large mobile machinery. Matlab and Simulink will be your daily tools. You will work on a modular software architecture, specifically those related to the electric powertrain. These modules are developed using model-based design and interact with the broader system via defined interfaces.
You also get to create control algorithms, select power electronics components, and validate performance-based data on real-world measurement information.
Your key responsibilities
- Model the electric powertrain system or its subsystems using MATLAB/Simulink
- Develop and validate control algorithms for electric powertrains
- Provide hands-on support for prototype development and testing
- Power electronics component dimensioning and selection for electric powertrain
- Analyze test and field data to improve system performance and reliability
- Stay up to date with new technologies in electric mobility and off-highway electrification
Your background and what we find important
- A suitable degree in engineering
- Knowledge of full electric or hybrid machines, electric powertrain with embedded control systems, or inverter/motor controls are seen as a benefit.
- Experience in model-based development is highly valued
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, structured approach
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural, cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel occasionally, including to underground mine environments
